Purify given fine and probation in plea agreement

Maurice Purify entered into a plea agreement today and was sentenced to one year of probation and a $1250 fine. Callahan's statement on Purify's fate with the football team could come later this week.

Mo has already suffered from the suspension and public humiliation, and is seeking help, but Coach Callahan has to make a statement here. A two game suspension is sufficient, IMO. This is assuming Purify follows the terms of his probation and whatever other internal sanctions that Callahan decides are appropriate. Regardless, I will support whatever Coach Callahan decides to do, and I am confident Mo will as well.

Boosters paying players and a player getting a DUI are not quite the same. Both will get you probation, which OU knows all about. One is an NCAA violation, the other is not.
