Ever since Callahan arrived in Lincoln, people have been saying that he needs time to get the right players in place to run his system. Callahan is so very close. The upgrade in talent is unquestionable and several of the incoming freshmen will make an immediate impact this season. The outlook for the 2008 recruiting class looks to be even better. Expectations for this season are higher than they have been in several years and rightly so. The Huskers have a chance at winning every game on the schedule, but realistically, they won't. The schedule is brutal. The key will be to win the games that they are supposed to win (like OSU last season) and be at least competitive in the others (USC, Texas). 10-2 or 9-3 with a return to the Big 12 championship game is attainable and would sustain the momentum into 2008. A signature win over USC or Texas and all bets are off.
